Freaky Deaky Halloween Festival – October 2015

0

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but summer is on the way out. The temperature is dropping, school is starting back up for some of us, and festival season is coming to a close. However, there is still a  glimmer of hope. For those of you who find yourselves in the Midwest, the Freaky Deaky festival is fast approaching to take your Halloween to another level! From October 30th – November 1st you’ve got one last chance to get your electronic fix before the festival drought (sadly) begins.

React first started putting on this Halloween-themed party seven years ago. In that time, it has had a few homes in Chicago such as the (former) Congress Theater and the Aragon Ballroom. Recently, the lineup has grown too big for the Uptown neighborhood to contain. Freaky Deaky has officially made a move and settled into a more suitable festival environment at Toyota Park, just west of Chicago. In addition to having an exciting new home, the event has now expanded into three full days of music! For Chicagoans, this location is a little bit of a drive compared to React’s other events at Soldier Field and Union Park. However, those making the trek will be awarded with an incredible mix of talent when EDM meets Hip Hop at Freaky Deaky.

This year’s main stage headliners include: Armin van Buuren, Bassnectar, Pretty Lights, 2 Chainz, Big Gigantic, and Carnage. True to React’s other events, there will be additional themed stages along with an underground stage for old and new producers alike. These alternate stages will be anchored by Markus Schulz, Gesaffelstein, and Richie Hawtin. Other big names making appearances include Benny Benassi, Borgore, Oliver Heldens, and many MANY more artists from around the world.

If you have any money remaining from your annual music fest fund, you’re going to want to spend it on this one. Winter is coming and soon festival season will go into hibernation until Spring (like the rest of us in the Midwest). This is one more chance to party it up with your friends before you are stuck indoors watching festival sets on YouTube!
