KSHMR Releases Free Project Files and Stems for Ableton

0

How great is KSHMR? Pretty damn great.  KSHMR announced three days ago via twitter that he has released a song project to the public. This is a free project file for Ableton, free stems, and a handful of samples from his song “Touch.” It’s not every day that a professional producer gives you the opportunity to look behind the curtains.

I’ve written previously about KSHMR and his generous ways before, when they released a 3-minute video walking through his song JAMMU. Being able to pick apart a track and really get in the headspace of the original creative is invaluable to people looking to better understand music production. This is especially true for those looking to learn a new style or techniques from someone who’s managed to “make it” in the world of EDM.

So, how can you get your hands on this? Click here to download the Touch (VIP Remix) Project
What does this contain?
– Ableton live 9 project file (.als)
– 42 samples (1gig worth)
– 53 stems

Again, don’t take this for granted — you’ll be hard pressed to find any other professional releasing something so comprehensive for aspiring producers. How can you make the most of this? Dissect every single inch of this project file. Ask yourself, what key is this song in? What’s the progression? How is the song structured? How is the drum kit layered? How do the synths meld so well together? These are great questions to find the answers to while you dig through everything. Remember, this sort of thing doesn’t happen often so you want to really make the most of it — you could even join one of the thousands of other producers that decided to take this information and make a remix. To each their own.

Enjoy!
